"Out In The Street" Artists Ave Pildas, Rodrick Bradley and Special Guests TBA
(Friday, October 5, 2018/Los Angeles, California) The Venice Institute of Contemporary Art ViCA presents "Street Photography: A Legacy" a short lecture by Juri Koll, Director of ViCA, followed by a lively panel discussion and Q&A with artists Ave Pildas, Rodrick Bradley and others with Special Guests TBA on Sunday, October 21 from 1-3 at Muzeumm. This event closes the acclaimed fine art photography exhibition Out In The Street, which focuses on a nearly 200 year tradition in art.
According to Shana Nys Dambrot, Arts Editor of the LA Weekly, “Out in the Street” curator Juri Koll solicited work that addresses “urban challenges and solutions,” with special attention paid to chronicling of actions for social justice, political protest and cultural philosophy. Of course, each artist interprets this theme differently, with results across the spectrum from casual observances to high-profile collaborations, gentle abstraction and candid portraiture. Well-known names from history and current events, fine art and photojournalism, are shown alongside more experimental and emerging voices, to great effect."
Out In The Street presents images created with a camera that address urban challenges and solutions in terms of social issues, justice, political protest, demonstrations, geographical, and/or philosophically creative ways of seeing what's out in the street or out of doors - from around the world.
